Poor performance lets down an excellent app

Need train tickets or just info on trains? This app will let you do both, and even has live arrival or departure info.

It’s an incredibly easy app to pick up and play with – all you need to do is fire it up and start looking for trains to arrive or find prices.

Once you’ve logged in (a slightly laborious process, but necessary) you can buy tickets quickly each time you use the app – and you don’t even need to always collect them, as some will be presented as an mTicket (or a barcode for the inspector to scan).

If not, you’re given a reference number to collect from the station – and anyone that’s got to a railway and been hunting for a confirmation number will know it’s really great to have them all in one place on the app.

We especially liked the way you can save a station and see where the trains are in real time, taking the National Rail feed. It’s a shame you can’t make this a Live Tile for your fave places, but we’ll live without it.

The only downside is the really buggy performance. Be it trying to swipe quickly through menus or random crashing, we can’t help but lose trust in this app at times, especially when we need vital train info.

When this is fixed, a five star app without doubt.
