Look, we know the content on Vimeo is meant to be of a slightly higher calibre than YouTube, but that doesn’t mean we want to have to pay to see the videos.
This application is simplistic in the extreme – you type in a search phrase and you get to check out the videos that come up.
The player is the same used by YouTube within the Zune framework on your phone, so it’s very easy to understand: a skip forward/back set of buttons, and a play/pause offering, plus the good ol’ slider bar for good measure.
The application also integrates into the phone’s Zune player to let you see your most recently-viewed photos, which is also a feature offered within the application itself.
However, despite the video quality and content being decent, we’re really not impressed with having to pay for the privilege to watch something on our phone when it’s free online. Perhaps we’re being spoilt, but it seems a little much even at 79p.
