Seesmic Review

Windows Phone 7 being the nascent platform that it is, we’re not really spoilt for choice when it comes to social networking. Sure, we’ve got the official applications, but they’re not fun for a number of reasons – namely, sticking it to the man.
So along comes Seesmic and we can’t help but take a look at the application that promises to aggregate it all together – all of it being Facebook and Twitter and Sales Chatter (why we have that instead of the much cooler Ping.Fm, we don’t know.)
The application, like many apps on Windows Phone 7, takes a while to load up, and once in, you’re greeted with your ‘spaces’ – square icons that show your chosen Twitter and Facebook profiles. You can log into multiple accounts from this application, which is great for those with a secret identity.
You can also add other profiles you want to stalk into the mix as well, making it easy to keep tabs on the people you want to keep close. However, both these and your own profile don’t get their own profile pic in the icon, which seems a pretty poor show for an obvious win.
The application also suffers from the same problem as multiple other apps, namely it’s very slow and fails to connect at times – wethinks this is more to do with Windows Phone 7 than anything else.
A functional effort, but not one to blow the cheese nuggets off your social networking socks.

The iOS equivalent of a plain cheese sandwich: does the job, but it won't linger in the memory afterwards.

pxl.
The interface feels a bit out of place on iOS, but it’s a fun app, and produces interesting results.
Puzzlejuice
Absurdly challenging, sometimes brutal, but frequently brilliant (especially on the iPad); just be aware of what you’re letting yourself in for. (Sob.)
