Knowing what to do where you are
Poynt Review
by on December 10, 2010
Poynt is already a massively successful app on other platforms, so it makes perfect sense that it should come to Windows Phone 7 too.
Offering information on what’s going on around you, it can be used to search for movies and theatres, businesses for shopping and suchlike and then restaurants for when the movies and business time are over.
It’s a simple application to use as long as you have GPS loitering around – otherwise it needs to be shut off to prevent the app going doolally if you’re indoors.
A nice touch is the integration of Bing maps within the application, making it easy to see where stuff is in relation the REAL WORLD – and that’s what we need phones for now, right?
It could be a little more accurate, and the listings aren’t always fully stocked, but overall it’s a decent and slick offering.
