An app version of the main website
The Guardian is one of the more popular news sites on the internet, and it’s pretty decent that this application is offered up for free to let users browse the news from the site.
However, there’s not a lot here that is different from the main mobile site – although it does add a few things in that make it worth checking out.
For instance, you can easily jump between sections, favourites and the main home page of news, making it easy to get the points you want to.
More usefully you can set your favourites to become a Live Tile, which makes access simple and keeps you updated with the latest headlines on the go.
However, that’s really where the fun really ends here, as for all the functionality it offers up, the experience is massively marred by a slow response under the finger, which makes us much prefer the main page.
If you’re a fan of the Guardian, but only certain sections of news, this could be useful. Otherwise, just bookmark the main site and you won’t notice a huge amount of difference.
