Live video and a whole slew of news
Sky News is nothing new to anyone with a dish, cable or even Freeview box these days, but it’s made its way to the mobile space and is a flagship app for Windows Phone.
The interface is simple, clean and really utilises the panorama mode of the WP user experience, allowing easy swiping between categories, live news and headlines.
The live news is especially impressive, giving you three quality settings to choose from – weirdly over Wi-Fi the higher resolution is less stuttery than the lowest, but we won’t get upset about that, especially when you can watch over 3G if you feel like ruining your data package.
Other treats like a round up of the latest headlines in video or audio are welcome, and in short, this is a great app. We’d like to see the Live Tile offering info on the latest headlines, but we’re sure that will happen in the future.
