There are better ways to get your ‘lympic fix
You may have noticed the Olympics are upon us. This is a cause for lots of ‘YAY WOO YAY SPORT TEAMGB THE QUEEN WOOO’.
It’s also prime territory for the app world, and this official offering, in association with Samsung, with a similar app rolling out across all platforms.
However, this is the London 2012 official app for Windows Phone’s downfall – it’s horrendous compared to the iOS or Android versions. Everything takes another step, and the UI is far too cramped.
This is partly because there’s a Samsung banner that covers everything, where it disappears when you interact with the app on other platforms.
The notifications of stuff happening in your favourite sports are good, but the slow speed of the UI when scrolling through, the fact it chucks you out to YouTube to watch videos and the improper presentation of live events means we can’t recommend this app.
The notifications element is useful, but for everything else use the BBC website. It’s well good.
