A fancier version of the mobile site
While we hate to lambaste anything that’s a free app, sometimes we still wish more functionality would be added in.
This is one of those apps, giving you wide access to the sport news from the BBC and making it easy to access the different categories – but not much more than that.
This means that while it’s easy to see football news, you still have to just look at the mobile site – which doesn’t look pretty on Windows Phones still.
You can’t pin any certain sports to the home screen, and there’s no live updates to speak of, so it’s basically a bookmark in an app.
Like we said, it doesn’t do anything especially wrong – it’s quick and free – but overall, it’s hard to see why you’d clutter your phone with it unless you really hate poking about on the BBC Website through the browser.
