Much better than staring at your fingers on the commute

Sudoku still feels like one of those phenomena that is pretty new, but in reality it’s been entertaining the bored mind for many a year now.
This Microsoft-crafted title is a rarity in the Windows Phone Marketplace, in that it’s actually a free, ad-funded application that actually offers up a lot of decent elements.
Firstly, there’s the fact you can unlock Achievement points, which you’d usually have to pay a premium for. And the gameplay is pretty smooth too, as once the tutorial is out of the way it’s pretty easy to jump from square to square.
The boards are hugely varied in difficulty as well, meaning everyone from the casual user to the extreme player will enjoy what’s on offer.
There’s the added element of Powerups too, meaning you can spend tokens (gained by playing) and these help you on your way – but we have to say it felt a little like cheating.
With leaderboards and a glut of content to play with, if you’re a Sudoku stalwart you’ll love this app.
