Making your mates sound foolish is always fun
Applications like this are designed for phones – messing about down to the pub or when out and about and probably being never used again.
That’s why we’re fans of the price – you can spend the 79p and never again have to think about it, which many are fine to do.
That’s not to say Voice Bender is a bad application, as it does exactly what it says on the label.
Simply record a segment of voice using the large and clear icons and you’re given the option to listen to it back in a variety of modes, with the voice modulation showing on the screen.
There are a wide range of sound effects on offer, ranging from the standard ‘Robot’ to the ever-so-slightly-racist ‘Badass’… but all make a difference to the sound, and pitch controls introduces a whole new dimension as well.
Being able to save the clips is a nice touch too, and means you can pull out the classics when you want to.
Our only gripe is trying all the different modes takes a while, so unless you’re sure of the sound effect you want, then prepare for a few seconds wait while the application thinks.
