Light Sword Review

by on May 31, 2011

When Apple invented the mobile phone in 2007 with the iPhone, one of the first apps to come out was the Light Saber offering, putting you in the Star Wars zone.

Yes, now you could fling your phone around with Star Wars sounds effects all over the place, pretending to do battle with your mate that has the same phone and is willing to fork out for the same applications for the 2 minutes of pleasure ‘fighting’ the phones in the pub will bring.

Fast forward just three short years and the same thing has come to Windows Phone 7 – yes, now you too can own a Light Saber on your phone.

Not only that but there’s a choice of three different colours to choose from, a full screen mode (which just looks like a bunch of neon stripes to us) and accelerometer-based sound effects direct from Star Wars (although we’re not sure if it’s licensed).

Perhaps we’re being harsh on the application (or the 10 other identical offerings on the Marketplace) but having seen this around for so long you’d have to be a real die-hard Star Wars fan to gain any pleasure from it nowadays.
