Look at pictures of pretty film stars on your handset
There’s still a dearth of decent applications on the Windows Phone 7 platform, with the big names still taking a while to come through and bring out a tip top app.
Thankfully IMDb has managed that with this new app – it’s free, fully functional and well worth checking out for even the most casual user.
From the moment you open up the application and are asked to set your location (which will default to aGPS triangulation if you leave it) you get the feeling that it’s a very professional application.
From there, showtimes, trailers, movie trivia and quotes and a whole lot more are within very easy reach, with video flashing up very nicely and at a high resolution on Wi-Fi.
Another cool feature we loved: hitting the ‘surprise me’ option lets you shake the phone and see a random film title, movie personality or more, which is entertaining and pretty cool too.
There’s too much to talk about with this application comprehensively, with things like zeitgeist films being used as background wallpaper and current charts of popular celebrities making it a real delight to use.
