The popular app chat appears on Windows Phone

We’re all for breaking down barriers. Berlin Wall? Glad it’s gone. Car park entry? No match for our 1.1 Litre Nissan Micra.
So when THE MAN says we can’t talk to our buddies on other mobile phone operating systems, well… we’re not having that.
This is one of the big things that’s fuelled the popularity of this chatting application, allowing you to connect up simply by entering a phone number and getting access to your address book.
You’ll probably be surprised how many people are on board already – but sadly, you’ll probably be disappointed with how many are actually still active.
It’s nice to see contacts and their pictures, but not being able to see the last time someone logged in until you tap into their name renders it pretty annoying at times.
The Live Tile and push notification updates don’t seem too reliable – although do work most of the time to keep you up to date, and the location sharing could be useful.
In short, a decent cross platform application that goes a long way to solving the problem of smartphone fragmentation – but doesn’t solve it.
