We’d imagine if you’re regularly in contact with foreign friends or business partners there could certainly be a level of pressure to learn the language. If not for your own sense of wellbeing but just to speed along communications and get along on a more friendly level.
SMSTranslator is a horrible looking app that offers a totally non-integrated text message system but one that can and will translate both sent and received text messages into a host of foreign languages. The ‘clever’ isn’t in the app as such, it utilises Bing or Google to translate both your outgoing and incoming messages.
It does work, but the big problem is its lack of integration, it has to use its own contacts and messaging system, we can understand that but why put work into developing a usable app just to put no effort into the interface? It makes no sense. It’s a workable solution but not a pretty one and not one that’s integrated into the rest of the system.
