Do work on your phone? That sounds like crazy talk but if you must there’s always Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 (update) Review
by on May 18, 2010
Microsoft has produced a version of Office for its mobile platform since day one.
It wasn’t particularly stellar then, being outperformed by competitors such as Psion but it at least offered the ability to view and edit Word and Excel documents and presenting PowerPoint files.
The latest 2010 edition is being pushed out for free to qualified phones and we think that’s a good strategy by Microsoft, as frankly the base functionality seems to have changed little.
This isn’t to say it’s bad, on the contrary it’s an accomplished if semi-polished application.
Added into the mix is SharePoint and OneNote. Effectively these are all a shadow of their desktop counterparts and the interface remains a mishmash of stylus based input and more recent finger-optimised menus.
It’s hard to do the suit justice in a small amount of words but offline editing of basic Word and Excel documents is something everyone needs to do at some point.
