Windows Live comes to your phone, dragging your Windows Live Home kicking and screaming.
Windows Live Review
by on March 13, 2010
Perhaps some things should never be? It seems that the Windows Live system was devised for desktop systems, and as much as we appreciate Microsoft trying to bring its badly thought-through mash-up of email and social networking to mobile devices, its biggest problem is that it doesn’t know what it wants to be.
Start the mobile app and it promptly asks you to login, usually after a reboot and you are confronted by links to your Live Home, Messenger and Hotmail. So, everything you had before on your phone but from a new app.
The bemusing thing is Live Home, none of the functionality is there. For something that’s supposed to be about being social this app doesn’t exactly help you achieve that.
Microsoft has done a reasonable job of releasing decent apps for its competitors social networking sites but as it stands this app offers little if anything worthwhile.
