The mobile app instant messaging solution for those still tied to AOL's AIM message system.

AIM Review

by on March 13, 2010

Credit has to be given to AOL for its continuing support of AIM, I guess it has more than enough users on its system to justify keeping the updates rolling out and it has certainly done a good job with the Windows Mobile version, which is up to version 2.1.

As an instant messenger client it’s very good to use. You can track multiple buddies, as the AIM lingo calls them, manage multiple conversations and track your Lifestream.

There’s a couple of negative points for what is otherwise a well polished messenger. The first is the separate email system that throws you out into the nearest web browser, which is a shame. The other is simply that it’s doesn’t support any other messaging protocols but then why should it?

AOL will want to keep its users within its own digital confines.

If you are an AIM user then this does a very good job of keeping you and your buddies in contact.
