Good Food Healthy Recipes Review
by on October 1, 2010
This app, from BBC Good Food magazine, is a collection of recipes you can keep on your Samsung smartphone and work from whether you want to cook or shop for the ingredients.
As the title suggests, all the recipes are designed to be healthy for you and cover all courses for dinner as well as lunch and breakfast. Each recipe includes nutritional information including the amounts of energy, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, sugar and salt. There’s also plenty of choice for vegetarians.
35 of the recipes include less than 200 calories per portion, while not everything is experimental – there are also plenty of stapes such as chicken korma as well as treats like chocolate brownies. The app also provides a collection of videos so you can see how to prepare difficult foods such as fresh fish –ideal for kitchen novices or if you never cook but need to prepare a special meal for a loved one.
Like the Top Gear apps available for various smartphones, these BBC apps aren’t free as they’re from the BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, rather than the BBC itself.
