Book hotels from wherever you are
This travel booking app enables you to search and book up hotels from a database of 250,000 venues worldwide. You can book directly through your handset and, as well as searching for specific locations, you can also find hotels that are close to your current locale – the app will simply use your Samsung handset’s in-built GPS and tell you how far each hotel is from your current location.
HRS promises that many of the hotels can also be booked without the use of an up-front credit card transaction (and you can easily cancel them as a consequence). You’re able to fine-tune searches as well as view your established bookings and browse new destinations – when the app can’t reconcile your intended destination it will provide you with a list of options, too.
For some reason we did find our GPS was a bit iffy to lock onto our current location, but it wasn’t a big problem. We also liked that you could search by rating as well as sort the results however you wanted. You can also flick between currencies should you need this feature. A well-thought out and very useful app.
