A sailing and motorboat simulator for your Bada handset
Little Sailor Review
by on January 6, 2011
Little Sailor is another prize-winning app and won the Grand Prize in Samsung’s Global Developer Challenge for Bada apps.
Little Sailor is a sailing and motorboat simulator where you can learn the basics of sailing and compete against up to six virtual competitors in a yacht race – there’s even a demo mode to get you started. And it’s actually pretty good!
You can see how wind force affects your sail and learn how to trim the sails to make the most use of the wind around your boat. There’s a lot here and we love it – you can sail downwind and upwind, tacking and gybing as well as learn about (not) capsizing as well as navigation and race strategy. You can even change the weather conditions you experience to make the experience as close to the real thing as possible.
And what we like about it most is that there’s plenty here for beginners too. Fantastic stuff. The makers of the app recommend your upgrade the firmware on your phone to the most recent version before running the app as older firmware may cause problems and your handset may stop responding.
