Fun racing game for casual gamers
Asphalt5 Review

Asphalt5 is a quick fire racing game from Gameloft enables you to race wherever you are on your Samsung Mobile.
There are the usual racing game cheesy sound effects, plus an auto-accelerate feature and vibration-type ‘force feedback’. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the controls, while there is also (thankfully) the ability to adjust individual effect volumes including the music and the engine.
You can also adjust other settings such as the unit of speed and the position of the camera. It’s a relatively easy process to get into a quick race and you tilt the phone to steer.
You can start off with a Mini Cooper S while you can also race a Nissan 370 Z straight away. Numerous other cars can be accessed as you progress from the likes of Chevrolet, Mercedes, Audi and BMW as well as a Ford Mustang.
As well as single race there’s also the ability to go into career mode and go online to see rankings. The gameplay is fairly impressive and fun – there are numerous shortcuts you can take while you can also eliminate other cars by ramming them off the road. In many ways it’s a more fun game than Need for Speed Shift, certainly for the casual phone gamer!
