Trip Advisor Review
by on November 5, 2010
The TripAdvisor app is less of an app per-se, more of a front end for the TripAdvisor mobile service . When it first opens it asks for your location – presumably so it can dish out more appropriate information – but this isn’t immediately evident.
What the app can do, location wise, is to direct you to a local hotel. You can, of course, browse TripAdvisor’s unrivalled store of reviews and other opinions and check out food options and other things to do. You’re also able to write a review on your handset as well as check out flight information – there’s an awful lot to access here, it’s just that it would be a far slicker experience if the interface was presented in the app itself. We have to say that we were disappointed with that, even though the mobile web interface is a reasonably well-featured way to find TripAdvisor information.
Browsing the mobile web on a Nokia is never the best experience and TripAdvisor should take note of this – more development needed!
