Create your own voice commands for turn-by-turn directions on your Nokia
This brand new app from Nokia brings an interesting new dimension to Ovi Maps. Nokia recently made turn-by-turn directions free in Ovi Maps and they’re not alone – Google is also in the process of offering free turn-by-turn navigation in the UK too. So what does Own Voice for Ovi Maps bring to the party?
As the name suggests, it enables you to record your own voice (or someone else’s) for use over these directions. Once you have recorded your oral masterpiece, then you hit save and the whole thing will be ready for you at the Own Voice website.
And, in case you’re wondering, there are a total of 53 commands you’ll need to record. If you don’t fancy doing one yourself, then there are a number of user-generated voices to choose from on the website.
What’s more, you don’t have to keep them to yourself, either – share them with friends and family. You’ll also need the latest version of Ovi Maps installed on your device to use this app.
