Find a hotel near you
The Lastminute.com app is designed to be a simple way to find a fix when there’s a change of plan – say you missed your flight and need a place to stay, or there’s a business trip that’s overrun.
The preamble for this app says that it uses the GPS chip inside your Nokia to find hotels near your present location. That’s not entirely true, it just preselects ‘popular places’ to search from near you. Otherwise, the app is essentially a simple search front end.
You can choose from a list of popular places, or put in a destination yourself as well as other standard hotel search information such as number of nights and the number of people you’re looking for. But this is pretty much all the app has to offer, although you can also read hotel expert blogs using the app so you know the best new places to stay.
You could really do with some more tools to refine your search or ways to pull up more details or enter more information about you and more precise locations. Essentially then, it could be useful, but also could be a lot better.
