Share audio messages with your friends
by on March 3, 2011
Put simply, AudioBoo is like Twitter, but for audio. This free version lets you create up to 5 minutes of audio, whether it’s part of a presentation, a musical performance (copyright-free obviously, *cough*) or, er, something else.
After you’ve recorded your undoubted masterpiece, you can then add titles and tags. Should you wish, you can even connect it with location information courtesy of Nokia’s Ovi Maps (you can opt out of geotagging your audio should you not want people to be able to track you down). Then you can share your audio with whoever you like via Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.
The app has a couple of more added features, notably the ability to browse through other users public sounds – these are called ‘boos’ you see – should you really want to hear other people’s ramblings and random conversations. You will need an account with AudioBoo to record and upload and, while you can use your Twitter account to do this, the app takes you out to the web browser to sign in – not the neatest of solutions. Still, AudioBoo works well enough – providing you can work out what you want to use it for, of course.
