The ECB Cricket application enables you to keep up to date with live cricket scores from anywhere on your Nokia handset. You can also view news and photos from matches taking place and get ball-by-ball scores and full scorecards from all England Tests and one-day internationals at home and abroad – including the Ashes and the ICC Cricket World Cup.

County Championship matches are also covered, while you can also access international scores from abroad, too. So should your interest lie with England, Somerset or both, you can keep up with the latest news. The app is separated into three tabbed areas – Scores, News and Photos. Tap on a score in the Score tab and you’ll be taken to the full scorecard for the game. 

It will take a short time to load on a 3G connection, but the amount of information presented is impressive, while you can also click for even more detailed information. The news and photo tabs are less impressive – both showing a basic listing which you click through to see more detail – but will be invaluable for those with an interest in the game – as will this app as a whole. It’s decently-designed and works well. Our only quibble is that some of the text is rather small . The perfect companion app for the keen cricket fan.
