Send instant messages using various services
IM+ is one of the most comprehensive instant messaging services available for Nokia handsets. It enables you to sign into various services including Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk and MySpace IM and talk to friends on them all.
There’s no cost for actual use, though there’s obviously some mobile data overhead. It’s simple to set up the accounts you want to use and customise the app to be exactly the way you want it. There are also plenty of settings; for example, you can choose how many recent messages you see in the dialog as well as whether you send messages by using the enter key or if you actually want to press Send on the screen. Small things, but they do make a difference. You can also change themes depending on your want.
The app is ad-funded and, while it doesn’t get in the way of the experience too much, you may find you want to upgrade to the ad-free paid-for version. Still, as an IM app it’s one of the best available for Nokia handsets. The app even enables you to send voice messages and files through instant messaging services as an alternative to MMS – of course, this will cost you in terms of your data allowance.
