News about beaches. Any beaches. At all.
Beaches News Review
by on April 7, 2011
This compact 200k app keeps you up-to-date with the latest news about beaches. But it’s not what you think. You might expect an app with such a tagline to be able to be localised, or to be customisable so you can keep up to date with the news on beaches in your local area. Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case – you get anything and everything in terms of news – indeed seemingly anything including the word “beach”.
Indeed, the app is actually a very basic RSS reader from Feedzilla. It’s actually the kind of basic and completely uninspiring app that Apple would never allow on the App Store. Nokia’s Ovi Store has no such scruples however, and so here it is., The only useful function – aside being able to click on headlines and read the content – is the refresh button. Otherwise there’s just a link to the Ovi Store as well as a “send to a friend” button that composes a text for you to send to a buddy. We don’t think anybody will want to tell their friends about this app. Actually, we’d rather pretend we’d never seen it at all.
