This app is one for anybody interested in what’s happening around the world. It’s visually very interesting, presenting the 100 words and pictures most in the news or the public consciousness at any one point in time.
The images are displayed in a grid and you can click on them to make them bigger or bigger again to make them full screen and display their associated word.
It’s very cleverly done and very well put-together. However, 10×10 only gathers its data from Reuters, the BBC and the New York Times International Edition. Everything is automatically generated – the pictorial version of Google News. Perhaps even more interesting than the present information is that you can browse back to previous 10×10s – perhaps yesterday, or a date of your choosing last year.
You can keep going backwards simply by browsing to the next page. Each of those pages represents an hour. It’s quite good to be able to browse through the pages and images in this way.
10×10 is certainly a thought-provoking app and it’s very interesting to see what’s been included – as well as what’s been left out.
