Find bands playing near you and book up tickets
Gig Finder Review
by on August 14, 2010
This app, from Nokia itself, is designed to help you find the best gigs near you – whether they’re happening next year or in a few minutes, while there are social features such as the ability to invite friends to gigs using Facebook.
The main recommended page offers up suggested gigs, or you can browse by venue or gigs happening that day. Although the app is supposed to recommend local gigs, we found this feature was more miss than hit, with zero gigs for Bristol (our nearest major city) being pulled up.
Instead, the app decided to offer us various big concerts and festivals in London and even Dublin. Nokia has clearly partnered with TicketWeb, but the buy ticket links we tapped upon offered no pricing information.
Being able to save events, see them on maps and share them with others is all very cool, but the lack of location-specific functionality (and gigs from smaller) means that we don’t recommend you rely on this app –it’s intentions are worthy, but the listings still need a whole lotta work.
And we’d concluded that even before the app locked up on us and would no longer work!
