AA Speed Camera
This offers solid performance in locating speed cameras, but its ugly interface lets it down

AA Safety Camera uses a simple speed indicator and compass as its main screen. This has the advantage of showing you clearly how fast you’re going, but offers little other information. It has the look of an app that’s been converted from another platform.
Both apps alerted us to the presence of speed cameras in a timely and useful way, using a female voice alert. When a speed camera comes into range, AA Safety Camera alerts you and tells you what speed you should be going, and the screen flashes a red warning.
Both apps tell you how fast you’re driving as well as warning you about fixed and mobile speed cameras, but AA Safety Camera has an advantage in that it will warn you with a voice alert if you’re going over a user-specified speed limit – useful in 30mph limit zones.
AA Safety Camera is a free app, but you only get seven days to try it before you have to subscribe to the RoadPilot.com database of UK speed camera locations to use it. Your options are to sign up for one month for £2.99, one year for £9.99 or three years for £19.99.
