AA takes a no-frills approach to location-based discovery of UK attractions.
AA Days Out Guide 2011 Review
by on October 13, 2011
With the swell of travel service apps exploiting the geo-location features of iOS devices, it was high time the AA got in on the act. Its guide lets you look up any of 1,800 UK attractions without the need of a data connection; just search your current location (or another of choice) for visitor centres, theme parks and so on.
Entries include description, price and opening times, as well as buttons to call/email. The directions options is especially useful; it carves out a route in Maps. AA’s guide lacks flair, but its content is strong.
