If you watch a lot of movies on your laptop, the chances are that you use the superb VLC media player, which tends to play pretty much every type of media file known to man with as little fuss or bother as possible.
If you hook a laptop or netbook up to your TV and run your VLC movies through the big-screen, one slight annoyance is the need to actually get up off the couch now and then to stop, start or pause your movie. No more. With VLC Remote app for iPhone, you basically have a full-power remote to control your media player from the comfort of the settee.
As well as controlling what’s on the screen you can also browse all the files on your computer or your media centre’s external hard drive. You can also opt to chance VLC’s full-screen mode on and off and add or remove files from your current playlists, in addition to loads of other options.
Basically, if you use VLC and you have an iPhone you will soon find that this is an essential app to enhance your home movie experience.
