Zapd

4Easy websites for everyone at light speed. It's limited , but what it does, it does with aplomb

Got 60 seconds to spare? That’s how long, Zapd boasts, it’ll take you to make a new website with your iPhone. If you don’t count the time it takes to create an account, it’s true! Select a theme (there are 20 available at the time of writing and none of them are too ghastly), give it a name, create your first, ahem, Zap, which can be some text, a photo or a link, hit the Publish button, tell your friends via Facebook, Twitter or email and bosh! You have a web page and everyone knows.
Lack of landscape mode aside, which tends to put you off long text entries, it does the job, albeit with an extremely limited set of tools. Compared with Tumblr – the lightweight microblogging champion of the world, also available on the iPhone – it’s a featherweight. More themes (as well as premium themes), custom URLs and video are all on the way, but even with all that it’s a basic package.
It’s either really stupid or completely brilliant, and we suspect the latter: bare-bones web publishing that does just what it says on the box, right now.
