Find your family and friends wherever they are at any time of the day with HeyWAY.
HeyWAY (short for Hey Where Are You) is a useful tool for parents wanting to know where their offspring are, or for friends who might be travelling and want to keep an eye on each other’s locations in unknown cities.
The app makes use of the iPhone’s OS 3.0 push notification blended in with some basic social networking options to help you to keep track of where your friends, family and colleagues are at any given time. Or vice versa.
While HeyWAY was primarily designed for families, it is quite cool to encourage your closest groups of friends to use it, because you can then send individuals a “Hey, Where Are You?” alert requesting their location.
Providing this is not the girl from accounts that you have had a crush on since 1998 but never actually spoken to, this generally shouldn’t make you look too much like a weirdo stalker. (And with that warning in mind, the developers are keen to stress that nobody else can access your location updates without your explicit permission).
HeyWAY also sends your Push Notifications to your friends pretty much immediately, even if the app is not running on their device.
