LinkedIn on iPhone puts your entire professional network on the end of your index finger.
by on March 17, 2010
LinkedIn is a front-end iPhone app for the world’s biggest online business-oriented social-networking site. It is basically a much easier and quicker way to access your LinkedIn profile and network on the go, than trying to get online via your laptop or netbook wherever you have a Wi-Fi signal.
It is also a much more comfortable way of keeping up with your work colleagues when you have a few minutes to snatch on a business trip. It is far more preferable to sit in the bar, checking out your LinkedIn updates, than sitting in the departure lounge with your laptop resting on your knees.
The app’s home screen gives you a search bar, an invite button, and buttons to access All Updates, Status, Profiles, Discussions, Connections, Favorites, Inbox, Invitations, Recents, Reconnect, In Person, and Themes. All of which will be familiar to regular LinkedIn users.
The latest version 3.1 of the LinkedIn app for iPhone has also made it considerably easier to discover, build, and manage your Favorites list. Plus you can also, should you wish, use In Person to share contact information with other nearby LinkedIn users via Bluetooth. But be careful with that one, it might be a bit creepy…
