A useful group messaging app that’ll surely become a serious force worldwide when it launches outside the USA.
When you’re trying to organise a get-together, making sure everyone’s kept up-to-date can be a headache. That’s where apps such as GroupMe come in. Rather than send texts with multiple recipients, you add everyone to a GroupMe group and send messages using your iPhone’s data connection.
At the time of review, the app is only available on the US iTunes store and some of the features aren’t supported in the UK, or involve international calls, but if your friends have iPhones, Android phones or BlackBerry devices, they can download the app and your group conversation can start.
The app displays alerts on your screen when someone replies, and you can also attach your location. This app will become truly useful once the international versions launch and we can all take full advantage.
