The Scotsman is a superb newspaper app for the iPhone, a must-buy for readers
The Scotsman is Scotland’s first iPhone newspaper app and it’s quite an impressive one at that.
The app’s developers have clearly looked at other national newspaper apps (such as those from The Guardian and The Independent) and taken a number of the best features from those apps. And then added a few nice touches of their own, for good measure.
Unfortunately, the first version of The Scotsman iPhone app garnered a bit of criticism on the iTunes App Store as it was prone to crash.
Luckily though, the developers have now solved those early teething troubles, so don’t let those first few negative App Store reviews put you off, because this is a really solid and highly useful news application.
The app costs £1.79 for a three month subscription. If you have an iPhone and you are a regular reader of The Scotsman this really is a no-brainer.
Whether you want to keep up with the latest political goings-on at Holyrood or Westminster in the politics section, or just keep up with the latest sports results or just find a decent place to eat in Edinburgh, this is a cracking newspaper app.
