Great for collating news stories you want to read at a later date or when you are offline
Instapaper Pro Review
by on May 30, 2010
Instapaper Pro is a superb app for reading news stories that you have earmarked from your RSS feeds, with the text optimised for ease of reading on your iPhone’s screen leading to a far better reading experience than you get with a normal website.
It lets you read any stories you like, whether or not you are connected to a Wi-Fi or 3G network, which proves particularly handy when travelling (until they provide free Wi-Fi on all tubes and planes, that is!).
Developer Marco Arment should be commended on his superb work with Instapaper Pro, making it incredibly simple to use. It is easily our favourite way of reading lengthy articles or blog posts that we find online.
Users can add in a “Read Later” bookmarklet to their browser and can click it anytime they want to read an article later. You can also organise your stories into folders, which, when combined with a good RSS reader such as NetNewsWire, is invaluable for keeping on top of all your favourite news.
The app also features some really nice little touches for news reading such as tilt scrolling, adjustable fonts and text sizes, a dark mode for night reading and the options to send favourite stories to Tumblr and Twitter.
