Popular social news aggregator gets its own iPhone app for news and trivia junkies
by on April 9, 2010
Digg is a social news aggregator that allows you to share stuff you find interesting with others, while seeing what online news, photos and other content the rest of the Digg community deems to be cool and interesting. It is, depending on your point of view, a superb way of seeing what is popular on the internet at any given time, or a geeky and trivia-obsessed waste of time.
Which basically means that if you already use Digg online, you are going to love this new iPhone app. And if you don’t or you are one of the ones that just doesn’t ‘get’ it, then you are going to have little use for this.
You can immediately start to browse the various sections of Digg and search for content using the app, although you will need to log-in (or create an account online if you haven’t already) to be able to vote (Digg) on stories.
If you like the look of a particular headline, then simply click on it and the app will take you to the full story. Most of the fun to be had in Digg is in the comments section, where there are always numerous (and hilariously banal) debates raging on the top news items of the day.
You can also choose to copy stories to the clipboard to email links to stories to friend or choose to immediately share links you like via Facebook or Twitter. A great news app.
