A smart, engaging one-thumb arcade puzzler that’s just a touch too fiddly to get our highest score.

We suspect Detective Pete dreams of spandex. Alas, our rodent hero is only sort-of superpowered — he can fade walls and projectiles to pass through them, but only if they are bright white.
Maybe this is why he’s a detective, hot on the trail of a diamond thief, and not living it up as Shadowmouse in the X-Mice.
To complicate matters, Pete also can’t stop unless embedded in wall, turning each single-screen level into a frantic platform puzzler; you carefully time prods on the screen to fade objects, guiding our hero to the exit, collecting diamonds along the way.
Although sometimes fiddly and frustrating, Fade is highly enjoyable, with plenty of ‘aha!’ moments when you crack a perfect solution.
