A superb way of identifying new music that you like and sharing your finds with friends.
Shazam Encore Review
by on March 17, 2010
Shazam is a must for music lovers. If you are unsure of what you are listening to on the radio then play it to this app and it will soon tell you the name of the artist, album and song.
And if that wasn’t immediately impressive enough, Shazam will also direct you to album art, artist biographies, related YouTube videos and relevant links to buy the tune from iTunes.
The app is pretty consistent, though it does tend to work better in environments where there is little noise pollution, so it will work far more often in a quiet room listening to music via a decent hi-fi, as opposed to trying to use it at a noisy party with a muffled sound system.
Shazam also incorporates the necessary social aspect that most apps need to have these days, giving you the option of sharing new music you have discovered with friends and family.
Shazam Encore is the premium, non-ad-supported version of this cracking application, offering users unlimited song tagging, previews, recommendations and Tag charts. When combined with Spotify, the iPhone soon becomes the greatest ever tool for discovering and sharing new music.
