One of the better internet radio apps available for the iPhone
If you are the lucky owner of a Pure internet radio, then it is likely that you have already used the UK manufacturer’s own internet radio portal, called The Pure Lounge. This app is an iPhone-friendly version of that service, which lets you filter the many thousands of internet radio stations out there down to a select few that you like.
And there’s plenty to choose from, with over 16,000 internet radio stations, thousands of on-demand podcasts and programmes, and – if you really want it -a library of ‘evocative Pure sounds’ such as weird relaxation music and other nonsense.
But the fact that you can filter those stations down via station name, language, country, genre, sound quality (particularly cool for audiophiles and hi-fi buffs) or a combination of all five is what makes this app more than worth £2.99 for anybody that cares about music or radio.
Pure’s superb Lounge app makes internet radio – something that can initially be quite daunting to a newcomer – very easy to use. You can then save an unlimited number of your favourite stations and podcasts to listen into from your iPhone (or from your PC or Pure internet radio if you so choose). This one may well give Spotify a run for its money.
