Elmo’s Monster Maker
Elmo’s Monster Maker is good fun but just a little too expensive for what’s on offer here.

There are a rash of monster-maker apps on the App Store, but Elmo’s is an official Sesame Street tie-in, featuring the famous cuddly red character that kids love.
Like all these apps, it’s very simple – you choose a blank monster, then tap to change its eyes, hat and nose. The best thing about this app is that it uses official Sesame Street video and voices, so this really is Elmo guiding you through the app, and your monster keeps moving and saying funny things as you give it new features.
It’s all great fun, but quickly becomes repetitive, and there just aren’t enough things to do with your monster. Our 4-year-old child tester got bored of it quickly.
When you’ve finished, you can get your creation to dance around to different songs or get Elmo to take a picture of it, which ends up in your Camera Roll, but that’s it.
Come on Sesame Street, kids these days expect more – so where are your sharing options and monster games?
