Do you like stroking your chin in front of baffling paintings? If so, here is an app for you
Tate Trumps Review

Tate Trumps for iPhone is a fun way of making a trip to the Tate Modern that little bit more interesting, by making you look at your phone a little bit more and look at the paintings and bafflingly – weird art on show a little bit less. And then making a fun game out of it all, to boot!
For true art-lovers, this might well sound like something close to heresy, although we’ve tried out Tate Trumps with mates on weekend trips to the London tourist-trap, and we have to say that it really is a lot of good clean arty-farty fun.
Tate Trumps essentially requires you to collect pieces of art from the (massive) modern art gallery. You do this by typing in a code associated with the piece of art you are viewing, in order to ‘obtain’ it and, ideally, ‘trump’ your mates, as you traipse around yet another gallery of funny-looking paintings.
“Imagine if all the artworks in the gallery came to life and had a fight. Could you pick which one would win?” reads the promo guff for the app. It’s not quite that good, to be fair, but it’s free and worth checking out if you are planning a trip down the Tate anytime soon.
