Deezer knows what you want from a music streaming app – and this is a market-leading service.

Deezer could be dismissed as just another Spotify-aping music streaming service, here to make up the numbers and accrue a tiny bit of market share. But it’s not. Deezer is a music streaming service that surpasses Spotify in just about every way. It’s available in three subscriptions, but you’ll need a £9.99 monthly Premium+ account to use it on your mobile.
The general principle is more or less the same as Spotify and Napster: search, stream, download and discover music. It’s backed up by a browser-based version that you can use on a computer, much like what you get with a subscription to Napster (so no clunky desktop client). But the Deezer iPhone app is far superior.
Not only is the interface simple and easy to use, it’s bug-free and offers a lightweight and slick experience. Downloads are quicker than Spotify, and it’s very easy to find new and exciting music. The growing music library is a match for other services, and you can get a free 15-day trial from deezer.com, so you’ve no excuse not to give it a try.
