Facebook’s interface has gone through more cosmetic changes than a Lagy Gaga concert and sadly this tinkering has filtered down to the iPad. The main navigation bar nicely slides in and out from the left of the screen (much like the Twitter app does on the iPad), yet a few annoying niggles spoil the experience.
After adding a recipient in Messages you can’t tap the text field to then type into, you must choose Next from the onscreen keyboard, which is hardly intuitive!
Then there’s the lack of proper app support. Any apps/games that do show up in your side panel can’t be opened within the Facebook app, instead it takes you off to that separate app, or the App Store if you don’t have it. For an app that promised so much there’s plenty of further tweaks to be made, if you can bear to keep up with them.
