A photo tweaking app with some very handy features
Photo Editor Ultimate Free is a smart little app that offers some choice photo manipulation tools at the highly compelling price of zero pounds.
Load a photo in it and you can rotate it, resize it, change the brightness and contrast, apply colour effects to the whole image or selectively and apply distortions such as Jitter and Pixelate.
The great this is that almost all of these come with an impressive level of granularity to their control, and often some surprisingly advanced features rolled in.
For example, the resize tool enables you to manually enter the pixel count you want to resize to, but you can set it to match the aspect ratio if you want, so no calculations necessary.
The most impressive tool is Partly Color, which enables you to apply an effect, such as greyscale, and then manually paint back in areas of colour if you want. You can switch between all the effects, so you could go crazy and make a shot negative with one sepia part if you wanted.
Our only real criticisms come from the lack of a crop tool and that browsing for your images isn’t particularly user friendly. However, since it’s free, we thoroughly recommend you download it anyway — it’s a steal.
