Take a picture; make a postcard – with one simple click

Shoot it! Review

by on May 24, 2010

If you’re out somewhere in the world and want to show people what’s going on – sometimes you have to buy a postcard that best matches what you’re experiences are.

We’re betting there won’t be a shop that sells ‘then we flew helicopters to Johannesburg’ postcards at the World Cup.

So here’s a better idea – make your own! Take a picture with the BlackBerry, add a contact with a full address, write a few lines and bingo: your personal postcard is made and mailed.

It currently costs around 99 cents to shoot and send a photo when you buy credits – although be warned of roaming data charges in a foreign country.

It’s also a little slow and sometimes the card doesn’t fully upload – plus there’s no way to edit a contact’s address from within the app.
The concept is great, but it needs a little tweaking to be a success on the BlackBerry platform.
