Instant messaging has been around for seemingly donkey’s years but this is still one of the most popular ways of communicating on a mobile platform.
BB Messenger works on a systems on PIN numbers and email addresses, making it a very insular group – if you don’t have a BlackBerry you’re not invited.
But the PIN system makes it very easy to find your friends from around the world – and once you get started, the UI is easy to use.
You can invite contacts, see your own profile, add a status and a profile picture too, making it a proper social networking application too.
Groups can be created as well, making it easy to host chats with clients or simply bunches of buddies, with cool elements like being able to scan in barcodes to set up a new group.
New updates have helped make the battery life last better as well – but even without that this is a great application.
